Exeter City vs Rochdale Predictions
- Exeter are unbeaten in nine home games
- Rochdale have lost five successive away fixtures
- City have not been beaten by a team in the bottom half since November
City to get back on track
Exeter suffered a 2-0 defeat against Tranmere last weekend, but it would be a huge surprise if they did not bounce back to form in this fixture against lowly Rochdale.
Matt Taylor’s side head into the fixture on a run of three successive win at St James’ Park, where they have won seven of their last nine and been defeated just twice all season.
The Grecians are also strong defensively, keeping five clean sheets in that run of nine home outings, while both teams have scored in only one of their last seven fixtures at all venues.
Rochdale struggling for goals on the road
Rochdale beat Hartlepool 2-1 last weekend to move on to 50 points for the season, but they have been shocking on the road through the entirety of the campaign, managing just four wins in 21 attempts.
Their last five on their travels have all ended in defeat and they failed to score in four of those games, while two of those away wins came against sides in the bottom half.
Indeed, Robbie Stockdale’s side have managed merely a couple victories when facing sides in the promotion race since mid-October, while both teams have scored in just one of their last seven.
I predict that Exeter will win this game to nil, selecting 2-0 as a correct score prediction.
