FC Porto To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

Famalicao, who have lost five consecutive home games against Porto, are in the process of changing coach with no permanent replacement for Armando Evangelista named yet. They have failed to score in their last three home league games while Porto have won three of their five away league matches and kept clean sheets in all of them.

FC Porto 2-0

Reason for tip

Porto can pull off the same result they got at home to Casa Pia on Monday – a 2-0 win. The Dragons have scored two or more goals without reply in all three of their away games not against ‘big three’ rivals Sporting or Benfica. Famalicao have not scored in their last three at home.

Porto can pick off rudderless Fama

Porto should get the better of a Famalicao team that may not have a permanent coach in place in time for Saturday’s Primeira Liga clash at Estádio Municipal 22 de Junho. Famalicenses reportedly parted company with Armando Evangelista this week 14 games into a campaign that has not really taken off.

The Minho club lie seventh in the standings with four wins, five draws and three defeats. It’s hard to know what their hierarchy expected after spending only a small fraction of the 22m euros they generated in sales last summer, but clearly it was more than mid-table mediocrity.

Porto’s fans demand nothing but success, which has largely eluded them this season under a new president and coach.

Dragons have been down in the dumps

The Dragons have been greeted by protesting supporters at airports and away grounds during a recent slump which saw them lose three away games in a row and draw 2-2 at Anderlecht in the Europa League.

That winless run was ended on Monday with a routine 2-0 home victory over Casa Pia and a similar result could be possible in this clash because Famalicao have failed to score in their last three home league contests.

Back the Dragons to win to nil, which they have done in three of their five away league trips this season, only conceding goals on the road at ‘big three’ rivals Sporting and Benfica.
