Fenerbahce vs Fulham Predictions

The World Cup has done a great job in distracting everyone from the lack of football through the summer but now that the competition has reached it’s conclusion, attention turns back to the domestic leagues and the work being done by the sides in club football. A key part to those preparations for the new campaign is the pre-season calendar and this Wednesday sees Turkish giants Fenerbahce welcome Premier League new boys Fulham to Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.

Both of these sides have already had a handful of pre-season friendlies and have proven that they are able to put plenty of goals past opposition who are perhaps not up to the standard they will face when the season gets back underway. Although this clash represents a considerable step up in quality for both of these sides, we expect the goals to keep on coming and are backing there to be over 2.5 goals scored for our tip in this match.

Towards the end of the last campaign you would not have got much for your money if you backed there to be over 2.5 goals scored in a Fenerbahce match as they were as close to a sure thing as you could get in football. In their last seven matches of the campaign there was a magnificent total of 33 goals scored, which averages at around 4.71 goals per game. Although their pre-season matches have not been quite as explosive so far, there has still been goals scored at both ends of the pitch and plenty of action to keep the crowd entertained.

Fulham have been hard at work trying to get deals over the line so far since the last season came to a close but only the talented Jean Michaël Seri in the centre of midfield has been completed. That leaves plenty of opportunity for members of the squad to stake their case for a spot in the starting XI, and non more so than the options up front. Aleksandar Mitrović, a player who is currently being courted by both of these sides, is yet to return or be replaced following his loan move from Newcastle last season, so the likes of Rui Fonte, Aboubakar Kamara and Floyd Ayité will be looking to cease their opportunity with both hands.
