Viola in need of a boost

Fiorentina’s European hopes have taken a hit after a run of three successive defeats but the visitors of poor travellers Lecce looks a decent opportunity to get back to winning ways.

The relegation-threatened visitors have managed just three wins in 13 attempts on their travels in Serie A, with eight defeats, and a home win does hold some appeal – but the better option for our main bet is the odds-against price on over 2.5 goals.

La Viola’s league games average 2.7 goals per-game and at the Stadio Artemio Franchi that figure is slightly higher at 2.8.

Lecce have failed to score in three games and that is a concern in regard to our betting angle, but they are facing a defence that has managed just one clean sheet in 13 games so they should be able to end their drought.

Fiorentina have scored at least twice in nine of their 10 home wins this season and may need a couple of goals to overcome Lecce, so over 2.5 goals looks a value option here.

The Salentini have conceded 20 goals in their 13 trips and Fiorentina may have to grind out a win here as they look to put an end to their losing streak, so a 2-1 home win is the correct score prediction.

Top scorer Moise Kean is an injury doubt for the hosts, so Lucas Beltran is an option for an anytime effort. The 23-year-old Argentine has a modest four goals in Serie A this season but one of those did come in the reverse fixture – a 6-0 win for Fiorentina – and he can trouble the Lecce backline again.
