Draw

Reason for tip

Accrington Stanley have won just one of their last seven League Two games, losing each of the last two. However, Fleetwood have won only one of their last eight home matches, drawing five times in that run, suggesting the stage is set for this struggling pair of Lancashire rivals to share the points.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

While points have been hard to come by for these sides, goals haven’t been of late. Both teams have scored in each of Accrington’s last five games – Stanley netted twice in four of those – while the same bet has landed in three of Fleetwood’s last four. A score-draw looks likely, with a cagey 1-1 the most appealing correct-score bet.

Fleetwood Town vs Accrington Stanley Predictions

  • Accrington Stanley have won just one of their last seven League Two games, losing each of the last two
  • Fleetwood have won only one of their last eight home games, drawing five times in that run
  • The hosts snapped a run of seven derby defeats against Accrington with a 3-0 win in 2022 and followed that up with a 5-2 rout in the pair’s last meeting

Stage set for a stalemate

Any hope of an immediate return to League One seems to have already faded for Fleetwood, who find themselves 16th and as close to the League Two relegation zone as they are to the playoffs heading into the weekend’s fixtures, sitting eight points off each.

They are joined towards the bottom by their Lancashire rivals Accrington Stanley, who entered the weekend four points behind the Cod Army and just four clear of the drop zone.

Therefore, both sides will be desperate to win Monday’s clash and not just for bragging rights, with each team in dire need of an upturn in form.

Little between Lancashire rivals

Fleetwood may be higher in the table, but their two latest results do nothing to inspire confidence in backing them for this clash, with Charlie Adam’s side being routed 4-2 at home by Doncaster before a 3-1 away defeat at fellow strugglers Swindon.

They are worth avoiding from a win perspective on that evidence alone, with the fact they have won just one of their last eight League Two home games only further tempering enthusiasm.

However, they have at least drawn five of those games at Highbury and, like the hosts, Accrington do not make much appeal from a win perspective either.

Stanley have won just one of their last seven league games and a loss to promoted Bromley last time suggests a Lancashire derby success is also unlikely to fall their way, making the draw a huge runner.
