Swedes set for fourth loss in six games

Since being knocked out of Champions League qualifying by Young Boys, Galatasray have put together a nine-match unbeaten run which includes seven wins and has seen them net 28 goals. 

That run sees them come into their third Europa League match of the season as strong favourites, a notion made even less surprising by the fact their visitors, Elfsborg, have lost three of their last five matches. 

However, the Swedish outfit did land a shock victory against Roma in their last Europa League game and they will be looking to pull off another shock on Wednesday. 

Hosts heading for another goal-laden success

The hosts will be wary having seen that result but given Elfsborg’s goal against Roma came from the penalty spot and knowing the Swedish side gave up 23 shots in that win, Galatasaray will still be confident they can take three points from this clash. 

Okan Buruk’s men have been banging in the goals of late, scoring five across two Europa League games this term, and they may put an Elfsborg defence which has shipped ten goals in their last three defeats to the sword. 

Over 3.5 goals has been a winning bet in seven of Galatasaray’s last nine games and four of Elfsborg’s last five, so back the same selection alongside a home win in Istanbul.
