Hosts can claim the points

Genoa should be backed to get a home win over Unione Venezia on Monday. The visitors are struggling to find the back of the net this season, and Patrick Vieira’s Genoa side will be confident of getting the victory at Luigi Ferraris.

They started the weekend 12th in the table, seven places above Unione Venezia, with the two sides separated by 11 points.

However, both teams have lost more games than they’ve won – Genoa have six wins and nine defeats, while Unione Venezia have three wins and 14 losses.

Unione Venezia lost 1-0 to Roma last week, in what was their second consecutive Serie A defeat. They were priced at 18/5 to win the game and didn’t create many chances.

They lost 3-2 to Udinese two weeks ago in their last Serie A away game and have now suffered two consecutive defeats.

Genoa are in better form at home, having won their last two Serie A games on their own ground.

Venezia have been disappointing in front of goal away from home this season, with just 10 goals in 12 games – an average of 0.8 goals a game on the road – and are struggling to keep the opposition at bay. 

They have now gone ten Serie A away games without keeping a clean sheet, conceding 24 goals in total from their 12 matches on the road this season.

Venezia have lost four of their last six away games in Serie A and Genoa to win 2-0 looks a decent correct-score be after they won their last league home match by that score against Monza.
