Germany vs Italy Predictions
- Germany’s last four matches have all ended 1-1
- Three of Italy’s last five away fixtures have finished 0-0
- Germany are unbeaten at home in seven games
Can Germany find a first win?
With half of the group stages gone, Germany will be a little disappointed with their Nations League campaign so far, having drawn each match 1-1.
They have looked a little tired at times, perhaps reflected in the fact two of the goals they have conceded have come in the second half, but they do look reasonably strong at the back.
Indeed, Hansi Flick’s side have not conceded more than one goal over 90 minutes in 12 outings, dating back to their 2-0 defeat to England at Euro 2020, with each of their last five containing less than three strikes.
Italy looking tired
Italy played out a 0-0 draw with England in their last Nations League game, a fixture in which both sides looked like they were very much at the end of a long, long season.
Roberto Mancini’s side, who recently failed to qualify for the World Cup, have failed to score in four of their last five away matches, with five of their last eight containing two goals or fewer.
They also have a pretty poor record against Germany, who they have not beaten in five matches since Euro 2012, with four of those games containing less than three goals.
I predict that there will be less than three goals in this game and I think Germany could nick the points, with 1-0 to the hosts my correct score prediction.
