Getafe can make life difficult for visitors

Getafe have been solid at the back this season and goals may prove hard to come by when they host Atletico Madrid on Sunday. Under 2.5 goals looks the best bet when Atletico make the short trip to the outskirts of Madrid.

Atletico are 12 places above Getafe in the table, with a 26-point advantage. The hosts are 14th with seven wins, nine draws and ten losses, while Atletico have won 16 of their 26 games this season.

Getafe are struggling, having lost their last two league matches and gone four home games without a win. Atletico Madrid were 3-0 winners over Valencia in their last away game two weeks ago and have won nine of the last ten on the road against Getafe.

Atletico Madrid’s 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao last Saturday was their eighth Primera Liga game in ten with under 2.5 goals. A second-half goal was enough to secure victory for Atletico, who were priced at evens to win the game and justified those odds before losing 2-1 to Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League clash at the Bernabeu on Tuesday.

Getafe have been impressive defensively this season, conceding 21 goals in the league – an average of 0.81 goals per game. No team has a tighter defence than Atletico Madrid, with just 16 goals against in 26 games.

Atletico Madrid can edge this, with a 1-0 correct score in favour of the visitors looking like a decent bet. They were 1-0 winners against Getafe last time they met in the league and nine of Getafe’s ten defeats have come by the odd goal.
