Real Madrid 3-1

Reason for tip

Real Madrid have conceded exactly one goal in four of their last seven away league games. They can push for a 3-1 win on Wednesday with Getafe having lost by that score to Las Palmas in their last home game.

Kylian Mbappe To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

This game comes three days before Real’s Copa del Rey Final clash with Barcelona, so changes may be rife but Kylian Mpabbe is being tipped to play. The Frenchman has scored 22 League goals this season and with Robert Lewandowski currently injured, he has a chance to overhaul the Pole and win the Pichichi.

Mbappe back for Getafe clash

Getafe will have their work cut out when they host title-contending Real Madrid in La Liga on Wednesday — just three days before Carlo Ancelotti’s side face Barcelona in the Copa del Rey Final.

Normally, the close proximity to a huge El Clasico clash like that would increase the chances of Los Blancos fielding a weakened team in a league game in which they are heavily favoured. But the word in Madrid is that Kylian Mbappe, who missed Sunday evening’s 1-0 win over Athletic Club through suspension, will almost certainly be involved.

Ancelotti rotated his full-backs from the previous midweek’s defeat to Arsenal and could make changes there and in midfield again with Federico Valverde providing the spark for Real’s latest home victory only after he was moved into the middle of the park. While the visitors need to win to maintain the pressure on the leaders, who could have opened up a seven-point gap by Tuesday evening if they win at home to Mallorca, Getafe need three points to be certain of staying up.

Real Madrid road clean sheets are rare

Jose Bordelas’ side fell to a third defeat in four last Friday against Espanyol. They remain in a comfortable mid-table position with 39 points, needing one win to mathematically ensure survival. But in the last two matches, the team from the south of the Community of Madrid has failed to pick up points in two games against relegation rivals and the previous 3-1 home defeat to Las Palmas exposed some major defensive flaws.

Now they will also be without star midfielder Christantus Uche, who serves a suspension after being sent off against Espanyol. But Getafe have scored in five of their last six home games, a run in which they drew 1-1 with Barca, beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 and also scored against two other top-six teams, so it may not be beyond their powers to grab one in a probable home defeat.

Real Madrid have kept only two clean sheets in their last eight away league trips, conceding at places like Osasuna, Espamyol and Valencia — who are all within a couple of points of Getafe. But they have to win and with Mbappe back in their ranks should probably pull out a 3-1 victory.
