      Halmstad vs Vasteras SK Predictions

Neither of these teams head into Saturday’s game in good form, with each managing to pick up six points from their last six matches in the Superettan. We’re expecting a tight and tense ninety minutes between the pair this weekend, as the loser would likely slip into the relegation zone, and with that in mind both teams are likely to be in a mind frame of playing not to lose, rather than going all out in search of three points.

Halmstad cruised to a 3-0 victory at home to Degerfors last weekend, where a ninth minute goal from Djuric got the ball rolling. Wiedesheim-Paul doubled the hosts advantage in the fifteenth minute and a strike from Ahlstrand fifteen minutes from time ended any faint hopes of a comeback for the visitors and wrapped up a comfortable victory for Halmstad. Vasteras had 58% of the overall possession and over twenty shots at home to Norrby last time out, but ended up losing the game 3-1. The visitors lead at the break 1-0, but Vasteras equalised five minutes into the second half via a Safari spot kick, but two goals in the final four minutes saw the visitors pinch all three points.

The recent form and performances of both of these teams heading into Saturday’s match, suggests that under 2.5 goals are likely to be produced and that the most likely result is going to be a draw. Under 2.5 goals have been produced in three of Halmstad’s last five and four of Vasteras’ last six matches. Just a point separates the two clubs in the Superettan table with ten games played and both teams have only picked up six points from their last six matches. Vasteras have drawn three of their last four matches, which includes their last two away games, and two of those games have finished 0-0, which is why we’re backing a goalless draw on Saturday.

Wiedesheim-Paul top scores for the hosts with four league goals and is their only player to have scored more than once this season, while Safari has three goals for Vasteras and is also their only player to have netted more than once in the Superettan heading into Saturday’s game. We’re confident that under 2.5 goals will be scored on Saturday, and have predicted a final scoreline of 0-0. Neither side have been winning many games during the early stages of the new season and there is just a point between the two clubs as things stand. Vasteras have drawn their last two away games and would be the more content of the two sides to claim another point this weekend.
