Rangers to prevail in goalfest

Rangers’ recent games have featured plenty of goals and Sunday’s clash away at Hearts should be no different. Rangers have found the net at least three times in six of their last seven Premiership matches, which points to over 2.5 goals for the bet.

They are second in the Premiership, having won 16 and lost four of their 25 games this season, while Hearts are seventh with eight wins and 11 defeats. The visitors are five places above the hosts and have 23 points more.

Rangers are going for a fifth successive Premiership win, but Hearts have enjoyed success in four of their last five home games in the league. They beat Kilmarnock 3-2 last month in their most recent game on home soil and have gone six games since they last tasted defeat in the Premiership.

Rangers beat Ross County 4-0 two weeks ago, in what was their fourth consecutive Premiership game with over 2.5 goals. They dominated possession with 73.8% and restricted the visitors to one shot on target. 

The win means they have won 15 of the 22 matches in which they have been odds-on this season but they need to bounce back from their humiliating cup exit at the hands of Queen’s Park last time out.

Only four teams have more Premiership goals than the 34 Hearts have scored this season, and they have scored in 17 of their last 20 league games. Rangers, meanwhile, have scored three or more goals in four successive Premiership games and have scored at least twice in their last four league matches.

Rangers’ recent defensive struggles on the road suggest there could be goals in this game. The visitors have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five Premiership away games.

Rangers have won five of their last seven Premiership matches by at least two goals and have scored at least twice in seven of their last eight league games. A 3-1 win for the visitors is an appealing correct-score bet.
