Draw 2-2

Reason for tip

Holstein Kiel have scored exactly two goals in their last three Bundesliga matches and are coming off a 2-2 draw with champions Leverkusen. The Storks have conceded 19 league goals already this season and at least two in each game, so this could be another 2-2 draw with an opponent that has scored twice in two of their last three games.

  • Holstein Kiel have scored exactly two goals in their last three Bundesliga matches
  • The Storks have conceded 19 league goals already this season and at least two in each game

Tough task for Bundesliga newcomers

Holstein Kiel seek their first Bundesliga win of the season when they entertain a resurgent Union Berlin at Holstein-Stadion on Sunday.

Marcel Rapp’s men will attempt to build on a morale-boosting away draw at champions Bayer Leverkusen before the international break when they came back from 2-0 down.

That result showed they have the mentality to make a good fist of what looks likely to be a relegation scrap in their first top-flight campaign. It will not be an easy task to beat a Union Berlin side going well under Bo Svensson, who was brought in to revive their fortunes in the summer.

The Storks have been shipping too many goals

With just one defeat against Borussia Monchengladbach so far, Union have settled in the top six and can beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 at home before the international break.

Both teams are scoring goals, but Union’s defence has been much tighter than Kiel’s. The Storks have conceded 19 league goals already this season and at least two in each game.

Meanwhile, Union have shipped just four and haven’t conceded more than once in a game. Both teams to score is the main recommendation here as Union did look a little vulnerable during a recent 3-1 friendly defeat to Pogon Szczecin, with a 2-2 draw playable as a correct score.
