      Huddersfield to Win

      Reason for tip

Huddersfield are the top choice to beat Stockport at John Smith’s Stadium on Boxing Day. Fourth in League One, they’ve won five of their last six home games and are unbeaten in six. In contrast, Stockport have lost three of their last four away matches, including a 2-1 defeat at Stevenage.

      Huddersfield 2-1

      Reason for tip

A 2-1 win for Huddersfield looks like the correct-score bet. Stockport have lost two league games by this scoreline, and Huddersfield have scored at least two goals in their last three matches. Their strong home form should see them edge a competitive encounter against a Stockport side struggling on the road.

      Huddersfield vs Stockport Predictions

      Stockport face tough test

Huddersfield are the best bet when they host Stockport in League One on Boxing Day. Michael Duff’s side won 4-0 against Cambridge United in their last league game and can follow up at John Smith’s Stadium, where they will be facing a Stockport team managed by Dave Challinor.

Huddersfield, fourth in League One, are one place above Stockport in the table, but they have also played one game fewer.

Huddersfield have won 12, drawn three and lost five of their 20 games this season, while Stockport have ten wins, six draws and five defeats.

Stockport lost 2-1 to Stevenage two weeks ago in their last League One away game and this promises to be an even tougher test. Huddersfield are in great form at home, having won five of their last six League One games on their own patch and going unbeaten in six.

In contrast, Stockport have lost their last two away matches and have suffered three defeats in their last four on the road.

It would be no surprise to see Huddersfield find the net, with Duff’s side scoring two goals or more in 12 of their 20 league games this season. They have also scored at least two goals in each of their last three league games.

Huddersfield can be expected to come out on top against Stockport, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Two of Stockport’s five league defeats this season have been by a 2-1 scoreline.
