Inter can cruise to high-scoring win

No team has scored more goals in Serie A this season than Inter’s 58, and over 2.5 goals is the bet when Simone Inzaghi’s side host Genoa at the Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday.

Inter went into the weekend ranked nine places above Genoa in the table, with a 24-point gap between the two sides. They sit second having won 16, drawn six and lost three of their 25 games this season, while Genoa are 11th with seven wins, nine draws and nine defeats.

Genoa’s recent form in Serie A has been up and down, with three wins, one draw and two defeats in their last six games.

Inter, meanwhile, have enjoyed success in five of their last seven home games in the league and have avoided defeat in their last 11 meetings with these opponents. They come into this game on the back of two successive home wins.

The hosts’ attacking prowess is reflected in the fact that no Serie A team has found the net in more games this season than their total of 23. They have scored three or more goals in 11 of their 25 games, and have scored in all 12 of their home games.

Inter are formidable at home and a 3-0 win for them is the correct-score pick. Six of Inter’s 16 wins this season have been by three or more goals, and three of Genoa’s nine defeats came in the same manner.
