Fulham to Win

Reason for tip

Ipswich have been unfortunate to run into Liverpool and Manchester City in their opening two games since promotion to the Premier League, but they may not find things much easier when Fulham head to Portman Road on Saturday, so go for an away win.

Fulham 2-1

Reason for tip

Kieran McKenna’s Tractor Boys are set to be positive on Saturday and lost just one home game in last season’s Championship, but their defence could still be exposed, so go for a 2-1 victory to Fulham

Emile Smith Rowe To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Fulham’s Emile Smith Rowe has been given an opportunity to rebuild his career at Fulham and has got off to a great start, scoring against Leicester this week. He can find the net against another promoted team on Saturday.

Ipswich vs Fulham Predictions

  • Fulham have won their last six matches against Ipswich.
  • Ten of the Cottagers’s last 14 away matches have featured at least three goals.
  • Both teams have scored in eight of Ipswich’s last 12 home matches.

Tractor Boys may still not find their groove

Ipswich’s start to life back in the Premier League could not have been more difficult after they were handed opening matches against Liverpool and Manchester City and there will be a feeling at Portman Road that their season starts this Saturday when Fulham head to town.

Kieran McKenna’s Tractor Boys should be confident after losing just once on their own patch in their Championship promotion campaign, but it might not be as easy as that for the new boys.

They will be desperate for a win, particularly after they were knocked out of the EFL Cup by League Two AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday, but Marco Silva’s Cottagers look well placed to inflict a third successive defeat on their hosts.

Cottagers can be trusted to get job done

Fulham won just three times on the road after an opening-weekend success at Everton last season, and they followed that success by gaining just three points from the next ten occasions they were on their travels.

However, there was enough to like about their performance in falling just short in a 1-0 defeat at Manchester United on opening night and they should be bullish after seeing off another promoted team, Leicester, 2-1 on the banks of the Thames last week.

A similar scoreline in Suffolk may be of interest for those looking for a correct-score interest.

Smith Rowe embarking on new lease of life

This is set to be a big season for one Fulham player in particular and Cottagers fans will be hoping Emile Smith Rowe’s promise will finally bear fruit after his encouraging start at Arsenal.

Injuries set him back at the Emirates when it looked as if he was going to be a huge star for the Gunners, but the early signs are good that he has been galvanised by his move across the capital.

He got off the mark with a goal against Leicester last week and this will undoubtedly give him something to build on, so it is worth chancing that he will find the net at Portman Road.
