Ipswich vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions
- Spurs have three wins in their last five across all comps.
- Both teams have scored in Ipswich’s last four games.
- Spurs have just one clean sheet in their last six away.
Spurs seeking third successive win
Tottenham have a chance to make it three successive Premier League wins for the first time this season when they head to Ipswich on Saturday.
Spurs won at Brentford in their last trip then claimed a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in North London last time out.
Ipswich managed to halt a four-game losing streak by holding Aston Villa to a draw at Villa Park in their last fixture, but they have lost their last three at Portman Road.
Tottenham look the more likely winners but at an odds-on price the best betting angle could be away from the match result market. Spurs are just such a tough team to call as they’ve lost at home to Leicester and then beaten United within the space of three weeks, so the standout bet here even at a short price looks to be both teams to score.
Both defences look suspect
Ipswich have picked up just 17 points from their 25 games so far and have conceded 50 goals along the way. Tottenham have shipped 37 in their 25 league fixtures, and with both backlines looking vulnerable both teams can strike.
There have been goals at both ends in each of Ipswich’s last four games across all competitions, while both teams have scored in four of Spurs’ last seven domestic games and they have only failed to score themselves in one of those fixtures.
After beating Brentford and United, Tottenham should be able to follow that up with three points at the struggling Tractor Boys and a 3-1 away win is the correct score prediction.
Ipswich concede on average exactly two goals per-game in the league and when Spurs click into gear they are capable of scoring multiple goals on their travels, having hit three at Old Trafford, five at Southampton and four at Manchester City over the course of the season.
Mathys Tel opened his account for new club Spurs in the FA Cup win over Aston Villa and he can grab his first Premier League goal at Ipswich. Tel had a hefty seven attempts – three of which were on target – in the win over United without scoring so he should get a few chances, and the Bayern Munich loanee can take one against Ipswich’s suspect defence.
