Draw

Reason for tip

Juventus have been drawn specialists in Serie A this season and they have also racked up three draws in the Champions League, so the stalemate looks a worthwhile bet when they take on a Benfica team in a similar position in the league phase standings.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Juventus’s Champions League matches have been averaging two goals per game and this could be another tight one with 1-1 a worthwhile correct score pick given that there is not a lot between these sides.

Juventus vs Benfica Predictions

  • Juventus have drawn four of their last seven games
  • Benfica have lost only three of their seven Champions League matches this season
  • Juve’s Champions League matches are averaging just two goals per game this season

Little between Juventus and Benfica

Benfica sustained a gut-punching 5-4 defeat to Barcelona on matchday seven of the Champions League but their final match of the league phase should be less eventful when they play away to Juventus.

The Primeira Liga club led Barcelona 4-2 until the 78th minute, only for the Catalan giants to complete a remarkable turnaround with an equaliser in the 86th minute and a winner in the 94th.

The good news for Benfica fans, however, is that they are still on course to finish in the 9th-24th positions, as are Juventus, and there could be little between the teams in Turin.

Another stalemate on cards for Old Lady

Juve have been draw specialists in Serie A this season, drawing 13 of their 22 league matches and only suffering their first league loss of the season against Napoli at the weekend.

It has been a similar story in the Champions League in which they have lost just one of their seven games, drawing three.

They are near enough guaranteed a place in the knockout round playoffs and this could make for a bit of a dead rubber given that Juventus are solid but unspectacular anyway.

And while the draw is the best bet, the 1-1 scoreline is the way to go in the correct score market as Juve’s seven Champions League affairs have produced on 14 goals this season.
