      Konyaspor vs Galatasaray Predictions

For some time, it did look as though Konyaspor could challenge for a place in the top four, though they’ve dropped off the pace over the last few months. Having failed to win any of their last three, Monday’s hosts will be hoping to turn things around, though beating Galatasaray, who’re currently just three points behind league leaders Basaksehir, won’t be easy.

Konyaspor come into this match off the back of failing to win any of their last three, but their last couple of efforts haven’t been too bad. From an attacking point of view, they’ve struggled to get going, scoring just one goal in their last four, but from a defensive point of view, they’ve been hard to get at. When drawing against Sivasspor, they gave little away, shipping just 0.76 expected goals, while much of the same can be said for when they drew 0-0 with Ankaragucu last time out. In fact, even when losing against the league leaders and Rizespor before that, Monday’s hosts didn’t exactly give an abundance away. If they can just start doing more going forward, they’ll be OK.

Performances on their own patch have been relatively pleasing as far as Konyaspor are concerned. They’re without a win in four at home, though they’ve only lost three times at Konya Büyükşehir Stadium all season. Defensively, they’ve been reasonably sound, as they’ve surrendered an average of just 1.07 goals and an average of just 0.77 expected goals. They’ve also the fourth lowest number of goals at home in the Turkish Super Lig this season. Then again, they’ve scored less than 12 of the other 17 teams in the division. It is their lack of goals that has prevented them from challenging higher up the table.

Fortunately for the hosts, Galatasaray have been far from excellent in the final third of their travels. The visitors have made a habit of scoring on the road of late, notching at least once in each of their last seven travelling matches, though they’ve only scored more than once in two of those, while an average of 1.36 goals for is hardly going to strike fear into the heart of the hosts, who’ve scored a similar amount at home.

Moreover, Monday’s visitors have given a little bit more away on their travels than Konyaspor have at home, as they’ve surrendered an average of 1.29 goals and 1.3 expected goals.

When we compare the home efforts of Konyaspor with the travelling efforts of Galatasaray it’s easy to feel that there’s a slice of value to be had by supporting the home team at the current prices. For all they’ve not been great going forward, they’ve rarely failed to compete at home, while as their underlying numbers show, they’re not easy to get at. Add in the fact that the visitors have given more away on their travels than Konyaspor have at home and it’s difficult to avoid having a small punt on ‘Konyaspor Draw No Bet’.
