Kortrijk vs Sporting Charleroi Betting Tips & Predictions

The first leg tie between Kortrijk and Sporting Charleroi was an even affair for the most part. Both teams enjoyed a decent amount of possession throughout the game and had a few goalscoring opportunities. However, neither team could break the deadlock until the Belgian Pro League’s top scorer Jeremy Perbet popped up with a 90th minute winner for Sporting Charleroi.

Perbet’s 20th league goal of the season has changed the entire dynamic of the second leg, with the visiting Charleroi having a lead to hold on to and Kortrijk needing to go on the attack from the outset.

This ended Kortrijk’s four match winning streak in the Pro League as well as their six match unbeaten spell. They will be confident of securing a result at home though. They have only lost two of their last 13 outings and haven’t lost a home match since Boxing Day. Five of their seven home games since then have ended in victory, and they have kept a clean sheet in their last five at home.

Sporting Charleroi extended their own unbeaten streak to six matches with that victory on last Friday, which is a very welcome spell of good form considering they had failed to win seven matches on the bounce prior to the Europa League playoffs.

It was this disastrous run of form which saw them fail to finish in the Championship playoff zone, but they can make amends for this with a win in these playoffs to increase their chances of continental football next season.

The visitors have struggled on the road a bit this season. They have lost four of their last seven trips away and haven’t won at Kortrijk since 2012. They are facing a side in good form at home and desperate for a win too, so odds of 23/20 for a Kortrijk Win look good value to me.
