Larne vs St Gallen Predictions
- Larne have four defeats in their last six.
- St Gallen have drawn their last three.
- St Gallen have gone 13 games without a clean sheet.
Larne can strike in defeat
The bottom two in the league phase meet in the Conference League on Thursday as Switzerland’s St Gallen head to Windsor Park in Belfast to face Larne.
Both of these teams are still seeking their first points in the competition and the visitors can get off the mark by claiming all three.
St Gallen have been in poor form but have at least managed to stop the rot with a run of three draws, while Larne have four defeats in their last six and have struggled to compete in Europe.
The Northern Irish outfit lost 3-0 at Molde in their opener and then went down 4-1 at home to Irish rivals Shamrock Rovers in their last Conference League game.
St Gallen competed well in a 4-2 defeat to Fiorentina last time out in Europe and look a level above their hosts.
However, Larne can at least make their mark on the game with a goal as they are facing a side who haven’t managed a clean sheet since August, a run stretching 13 games, and they have scored in eight of their last 10 games.
If St Gallen were in any kind of form they would probably win comfortably here but as it stands a 2-1 away win has a chance. The Swiss side have scored exactly twice in three of their last four games, and can edge out their hosts on Thursday.
