Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Atletico Madrid have failed to win four of their last six away La Liga matches, a run which featured two 1-1 draws. Las Palmas have picked up form lately, winning one and drawing two of their last four league games so a 1-1 draw could be on the cards.

Rojiblancos have recovered from their blip

Las Palmas can eke out a point against Atletico Madrid when Diego Simeone takes his title-chasing side to Gran Canaria on Saturday evening. The Rojiblancos are seven points off top spot and three points behind city rivals Real Madrid going into the final seven matches of the campaign.

It looks like a stiff ask for them to rise above or even split the top two, but Simeone’s side appear to have overcome the blip that followed their controversial Champions League exit at the hands of Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Atleti have won back-to-back matches, dispatching Real Valladolid 4-2 at home last weekend. Meanwhile, Las Palmas also grabbed a vital win when they beat mid-table Getafe 3-1 in Madrid last time out.

Both teams can score in Gran Canaria

Los Amarillos have improved steadily since Diego Martinez took over and have lost only one of their last four matches to give themselves a decent chance of staying up. Fabio Silva has been a focal point to their attack and Oli McBurnie also grabbed a goal last weekend.

They might be able to put the brakes back on Simeone’s side, who have blown hot and cold on the road of late. Atleti have failed to win four of their last six away La Liga matches, which makes them look far too short at odds-on quotes here.

Both teams can score at Estadio de Gran Canaria. BTTS has landed in Las Palmas’ last four league contests and each of the last five featuring Atletico Madrid. And it may prove profitable to back a draw here given the hosts’ recent upturn and the recent struggles of Simeone’s side on the road.
