Stadio Olimpico to host goalfest

Both teams have been in goalscoring form of late, and that looks set to continue when Lazio host Napoli at Stadio Olimpico on Saturday. Lazio have found the net at least twice in three of their last four Serie A games, while Napoli have scored in nine consecutive matches.

Napoli are three places above Lazio in the table, and the hosts have a ten-point gap to make up on the leaders. The visitors have 17 wins, four draws and three defeats from their 24 games this season, while Lazio have won 14, drawn three and lost seven.

Napoli have not lost in nine Serie A games and have won seven of their last nine away matches. However, Lazio have recorded three victories in their last four league games and have the upper hand in recent head-to-heads between the two sides, having won three of the last four meetings.

Lazio were 5-1 winners against Monza in their last Serie A game, making it ten wins in the 12 matches in which they have been odds-on this season. This was Lazio’s third consecutive league game with both teams scoring, but they restricted Monza to one shot on target.

Napoli will fancy their chances of getting on the scoresheet. They have scored in 17 of their last 19 league games and should pose a threat going forward.

Both teams have defensive issues which could lead to goals. Lazio have failed to keep a clean sheet in nine of their last 11 league games, while Napoli have gone four games without shutting out their opponents. Napoli have also failed to keep a clean sheet in 14 of their last 17 games against Lazio.

Two of the last three times that Lazio have hosted Napoli in Serie A have ended with both sides getting on the scoresheet.

Napoli can edge what promises to be a high-scoring game, with a 3-2 away win the standout bet for correct-score purposes. They have won seven of their last nine away games in Serie A, and could win a humdinger.
