Leeds to Win and Under 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Leeds have won 14 of their last 15 home league games with fewer than four goals scored in nine of them. Meanwhile, Millwall have lost six of their last 10 away Championship matches with fewer than four goals in eight.

10/11odds when tipped

Leeds 2-0

Reason for tip

The partnership of Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu at the back has enabled Leeds to keep eight clean sheets in the 11 games when they have been paired together. They could blank a Millwall side that have relied on set pieces and counter attacks while they are without strikers Kevin Nisbet and Tom Bradshaw. Leeds have scored two or more goals in 12 of 18 home games this term so should be able to claim a 2-0 win.

Farke’s fresh faces can scale the summit

Leeds look unlikely to pass up the opportunity to go top of the Championship for the first time this season when they entertain Millwall at Elland Road on Sunday.

The Whites have turned their West Yorkshire home into a fortress this season with a run of 18 games without defeat, including an extraordinary sequence of 14 wins in their last 15 outings there.

Daniel Farke has nurtured a young, vibrant team and, apart from the odd hiccup, managed to keep them relatively fresh and injury-free over the course of the campaign. Having turned in excellent performances against Leicester and Swansea recently, Leeds have also shown grit to ground out wins against Stoke and Sheffield Wednesday.

Millwall may struggle against Rodon and Ampadu

Millwall may present the sort of problem that requires more grinding on Sunday as, since dispensing with Joe Edwards and replacing him with fan favourite Neil Harris, the Lions are unbeaten with three wins and a draw.

That sequence has pulled them five points clear of the drop zone, but Harris is unlikely to ask them to try anything complicated or silky in this clash. Without strikers Kevin Nisbet and Tom Bradshaw through injury, Harris has made Millwall hard to beat and they can still hurt opponents on the counter attack and in set play situations.

They might be able to grab a goal in this contest, but Leeds are no pushovers at the back with Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu in tandem, having kept eight clean sheets in the 11 games when they have been paired together. Backing the Whites to win seems in order due to their incredible home form, but fewer than four goals should be a useful add-on to boost the odds further given the defensive fortitude of both sides.
