Leeds to Win and Over 1.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Leeds have won 14 of their last 16 home games with at least two goals scored in 14 of them. They have beaten Millwall, who are without two cup-tied players who impressed last weekend, on eight of the Lions’ last nine visits to Elland Road.

Leeds 2-0

Reason for tip

Leeds have kept nine clean sheets in their last 11 home games and six in a row overall. They should be able to shut out a Millwall team that has edged two 1-0 away wins in the league recently against relegation-threatened clubs. Leeds have secured three 2-0 home wins in that sequence and also win 2-0 at Coventry on Wednesday.

Largie Ramazani To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Largie Ramazani scored on his last start for Leeds, in the third round win over Harrogate, and could get the nod again after some encouraging substitute appearances lately. He scored off the bench against Sheffield Wednesday last month and was denied at close range by the Coventry keeper on Wednesday night.

Leeds vs Millwall Predictions

  • Leeds have won 14 of their last 16 home games with at least two goals scored in 14 of them
  • Leeds have won eight of their last nine home games against Millwall
  • The Lions are without two cup-tied players who helped them beat QPR 2-1 last weekend

Farke’s fresh faces can progress

Five points clear at the top of the Championship and with a fairly clean bill of health, Leeds have no reason to make wholesale changes for Saturday’s FA Cup fourth-round clash at home to improving Millwall.

The Lions will be coming to West Yorkshire to put up a fight and Daniel Farke will want to maintain the momentum of an unbeaten streak that was extended to 14 games when his side beat Coventry 2-0 on Wednesday night.

Farke has the depth to rotate in a few key positions and still send out a side capable of overwhelming Millwall, who are 13 places below them in the Championship table. Mateo Joseph could get the nod up front with Largie Ramazanim who scored the Whites’ winner against Harrogate in round three, and Willy Gnonto champing at the bit to start out wide.

Londoners not easy to write off on the road

As for Millwall, Alex Neil could hand club-record signing Camiel Neghli a debut but fellow new recruits Tristan Crama and Aaron Connolly are cup-tied. That is a shame for the Lions because both players impressed in their 2-1 home win over QPR last weekend.

The Londoners have lost only two of their last 10 away games with five draws and three wins in that sequence, so it is not so easy to write off their chances of getting a result. A much-changed Leeds line-up only overcame League Two opponents 1-0 in the previous round but the atmosphere around Leeds v Millwall games should ensure the home team produce a more intense performance.

Back the hosts to win with over 1.5 goals in the game to bump the odds up from Leeds’ 4/9 match result price. The Campionship’s leading scorers have the firepower to grab a couple and, given they have kept six clean sheets in a row, a 2-0 scoreline may be the final outcome.
