Arsenal/Arsenal

Reason for tip

Leicester have lost eight of their last nine league games and look set to struggle once more against an Arsenal side that will be fresh after ten days off. The Foxes have been losing at half-time and full-time in nine of their 15 defeats this season and the Gunners look likely to start fast and not let up. Take the Gunners to be winning at half-time and full-time.

Arsenal 3-0

Reason for tip

Leicester have been one of the leakiest teams in the Premier League this season, conceding 53 goals in 24 games. Their defensive record could be set to get worse despite Arsenal’s injury problems, Leicester have lost their last four home games without scoring and could succumb to another defeat to nil, the visitors are fancied to win 3-0.

Gunners have a chance in title race

Arsenal have been given a glimmer of hope in the Premier League title race as Liverpool drew 2-2 with Everton in their game in hand, meaning that the gap between the Gunners and the Reds is seven points with 14 games to go.

Mikel Arteta’s men have the opportunity to cut that to four as they take on Leicester on Saturday lunchtime, with Liverpool’s clash with Wolves not until Sunday.

Arsenal suffered a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle in the EFL Cup semi-final last time out and their departure from the FA Cup earlier in the season means that they will have had ten days off when they visit Leicester.

With Liverpool facing away trips to Manchester City and Aston Villa, as well as a game against Newcastle in their next four outings, this will be a crucial part of the season if Arteta’s side are to close the gap and lift their first title since 2004.

Foxes struggling

They take on a Leicester team who are scrapping it out at the opposite end of the table.

The Foxes picked up a crucial win against Tottenham recently but aside from that their form has been poor.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side have lost eight of their last nine league games and suffered a last-gasp defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup last weekend.

Only bottom side Southampton have conceded more goals than the Foxes’ tally of 53 and they have also lost the second-most games, 15.

Their record against these opponents leaves plenty to be desired too, they have lost their last six Premier League games against Arsenal.

The Gunners also tend to be ruthless against teams in the relegation zone, winning 21 of their last 25 games against sides in the bottom three.

Nwaneri to star

Kai Havertz is set to miss the rest of the season with a hamstring injury however, leaving the visitors with a lack of options up front.

That may not matter too much against this Leicester team however, who have been leaky at the back all season.

Van Nistelrooy’s men have been losing at half-time and gone on to taste defeat in nine of their 15 defeats and a repeat of that looks likely.

Correct score backers should note that the hosts have lost their last four home games without scoring and side with a 3-0 win for the away team.

Ethan Nwaneri looks set to start given the Gunners’ injury issues and he has seven goals in all competitions, take him to add to that tally here.
