      Under 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Neither of this sides are in great form and a cagey encounter can be expected. Under 2.5 goals has been a winning bet in five of Auxerre’s last seven games and five of Lens’ last six, with another tight match expected when the two face off on Sunday.

      Reason for tip

Lens are a wildly unpredictable side, winning six and losing six of their last 12 games. With that in mind, they are tough to trust against an Auxerre side who have lost just one of their last five away matches, suggesting the points may be shared at Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

      Lens vs Auxerre Predictions

      • Knowing which Lens will turn up is difficult, given they have won six and lost six of their last 12 games
      • After losing just one of their previous eight games, Auxerre have lost two on the spin
      • However, Auxerre’s only loss in five away matches came at high-flying Lille

Goals could come at a premium at Stade Bollaert-Delelis

Given they had to cope with the departure of influential manager Franck Haise at the start of the season, Lens deserve plenty of credit for still being in the race for Europe with four games remaining.

Haise led the Blood and Gold to three seventh-placed finishes and one stunning runner-up effort before departing for Nice, but his successor, highly rated Will Still, has done an excellent job too, with Lens sitting eighth and just six points off the European places.

However, it seems unlikely that they will close that gap, given the number of teams in that battle, and their struggle for consistency could be the reason they miss out.

Lens look set for a cagey encounter

Lens are one of Ligue 1’s most unpredictable teams, as shown by the fact they have won six and lost six of their last 12 matches, making Sunday’s clash with a solid Auxerre side a tricky one to call.

Although, one constant for Lens has been their tendency to partake in low-scoring games, with five of their last six outings featuring less than three goals.

Auxerre’s only loss in five away games came at top-four hunting Lille, so they are likely to provide a stern test at Stade Bollaert-Delelis and with just two of the visitors’ last seven matches featuring over 2.5 goals, the under is an appealing selection for Sunday’s mid-table showdown.
