Levante still fighting hard

A shock 2-0 win over Villarreal last weekend means Levante still have a chance of escaping the relegation zone, but it difficult to see how they will pick up another three points in this one.

Alessio Lisci has certainly helped turn around their fortunes, but his side have still lost nearly half of his 17 games in charge, including two of the last four.

A 1-0 win away at Atletico Madrid in February remains their only victory against a side in the top six, but they do come into this fixture having scored in eight successive matches.

Barca in the hunt for second place

A 1-1 draw away at Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday ended a run of four successive wins for Barcelona, who headed into the weekend as one of three teams on 57 points.

Xavi has not lost to a team in the relegation zone since taking charge, while recent victories have come at Real Madrid (4-0), Elche (2-1) and Valencia (4-1).

Their last four away league games have all included at least three goals, as have seven of their last eight, with both teams netting on four occasions.

I expect Barcelona to win this one, and given their goalscoring exploits, predict they will do so with three or more goals in the game, selecting 3-1 as a correct score prediction.
