Leyton Orient to Win

Reason for tip

Leyton Orient have won seven of their last nine home games and are in much better form than Derby, who have lost four of their last five away matches. The O’s have a good home cup record and can upset the Championship club here.

Leyton Orient 1-0

Reason for tip

Leyton Orient have kept seven clean sheets in their last nine at home while Derby have failed to score in three of their last five on the road. The O’s beat Shrewsbury 1-0 in their last home game and may be able to repeat that scoreline.

O’s in with a shout against drab Derby

Leyton Orient’s superb defensive record should serve them well when they take on a misfiring Derby County side in the FA Cup on Saturday evening.

The tie pits an in-form League One club up against a struggling Championship outfit and the prospects of a giant-killing of sorts look good. Derby may not be the force of old but they are a much bigger club than the O’s, who were a non-league club five years ago.

Richie Wellens’ side will see this as a great opportunity to make it into round four for the first time since 2011 because they are in excellent form at the moment. Orient have won nine of their last 10 games, including the extra-time victory over Oldham Athletic in round two.

Rams need more attacking threat

They have kept clean sheets in seven of their last nine games in all competitions and can potentially grab another when they face a Rams side that has failed to score in four of their last eight games, including three of their last five away from home.

Derby boss Paul Warne is trying to bring in attacking reinforcements this month, but they are unlikely to have any new faces available for this game. So the play here has to be to oppose the Rams with the 2/1 odds about a home win proving tempting.

Derby have kept only two away clean sheets all season and one of those was against League Two strugglers Barrow so forget double chance or Draw no bet here and take the O’s to go marching on.
