Leyton Orient managed to end a five-game losing run by beating Blackpool last time out to keep their hopes of gatecrashing the play-offs alive.

The O’s are five points off the pace with nine games remaining and they can’t afford another slump if they are to fight their way into the promotion picture.

Visitors Stevenage look destined for a mid-table finish but they arrive in reasonable form and could nick a result here.

There is a decent chance this game finishes all-square, but the best bet could be backing both teams to score.

There have been goals at both ends in six of Orient’s last eight games and they have conceded in all of those. Boro have seen goals at both ends in each of their last three games and they have scored themselves in six consecutive fixtures.

A 1-1 draw is the correct score prediction as Orient have only won one of their last six games and Stevenage are winless in three (D2, L1). This will be the third meeting between these two teams this season and both previous games have been close, with the reverse league fixture ending 0-0 and Stevenage edging a cup game 1-0 at this venue in January.

Boro have scored exactly one goal in eight of their last nine games and have shipped 38 goals in 37 league games, so this is one of those fixtures where both under 2.5 goals and both teams to score look potential angles but Orient’s suspect defence has convinced me to go for the latter.

Orient forward Charlie Kelman stands out as a potential scorer. The 23-year-old has 14 League One goals this season and comes into this game in fine form with three strikes in his last two games, meaning he has scored his side’s last three goals.
