High-scoring win for Les Dogues in store

Over 2.5 goals looks like the bet when Lille host Le Havre on Saturday. Lille have scored in three games in a row, including a 4-1 win over St-Etienne last time out, and will be confident of finding the net at Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Lille are fourth in Ligue 1, having won nine, drawn eight and lost three of their 20 games this season. In contrast, Le Havre are propping up the table with just four wins so far. Lille are 14 places and 21 points above their visitors.

Le Havre are struggling to find a win, having gone eight Ligue 1 games without recording a victory. Their six-match form shows no wins, two draws and four defeats. They have also failed to win in eight of their last nine away games.

Lille’s 4-1 victory over St-Etienne on Saturday was their third consecutive Ligue 1 game with over 2.5 goals. Lille, who were priced at 2/5 to win the game, have won six of the 11 matches in which they have been odds-on this season.

Both sides have been struggling defensively of late. It’s three Ligue 1 games since Lille last recorded a shutout and they have failed to keep a clean sheet in nine of their last 11. Only two other teams in the division have conceded more than Le Havre’s 39 goals this season – an average of two goals per game from their 20 matches.

Lille have a strong recent record against Le Havre, having beaten them by three or more goals in their last two meetings. With six of Le Havre’s 14 defeats this season coming by three goals or more, Lille to win 3-0 is the correct-score pick.
