Lincoln City to Win

Reason for tip

Lincoln should be backed to beat Cambridge United at home on Saturday, with the visitors struggling on the road. Cambridge have lost four of their last six away games and sit rock-bottom in League One. Lincoln, 12th in the table, have dominated recent meetings, winning by two or more in their last three clashes.

Lincoln City 3-1

Reason for tip

A 3-1 Lincoln win looks a strong correct-score selection. Cambridge have conceded 28 goals in 14 away games, failing to keep a clean sheet in their last six on the road. Lincoln have had the upper hand in this fixture, and with Cambridge’s defensive frailties, another comfortable home victory is likely.

Lincoln City vs Cambridge United Predictions

Basement club are vulnerable on the road

Lincoln are the bet at home to Cambridge United on Saturday. The visitors have lost four times in their last six away games in League One and could be heading for more pain on their travels.

The Imps are 12th in League One, 12 places and 17 points above rock-bottom Cambridge United, with ten wins, nine draws and ten defeats from their 28 games this season, while the visitors have just five wins so far.

Cambridge United were beaten 2-1 by Rotherham last week in their most recent League One away game.

Their defence is a concern. They have conceded 28 goals on the road this season – an average of two goals per game from their 14 away matches – and have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last six League One games away from home.

Neither side is in great form, but Lincoln have defeated Cambridge United by two or more in their last three League One meetings and a 3-1 home win is an appealing correct-score option.
