Pressure is on visitors

Neither of these sides have made an ideal start to Euro 2024 qualifying, but if Montenegro hope to push for a top-two finish in this group then they’ll need to sharpen up in this week’s visit to Lithuania.

The hosts are bottom of Group G and they have already lost twice in their opening three games. They have little hope of making the Euros next summer and another defeat looms as they host a side who beat them home and away in the Nations League back in 2018.

Visitors to secure win

Montenegro picked up their only win in this group away to Bulgaria and the last round of World Cup qualifiers saw them claim victories away to both Latvia and Gibraltar.

The hosts suffered seven losses in eight games in their last qualifying campaign, while they’ve lost six of their last eight home qualifiers. Their last Nations League campaign didn’t restore much faith, with the hosts losing two of their three home games.

Montenegro should prove too strong for Lithuania once again, so look to the visitors to take maximum points.
