Luton vs Fulham Predictions
- Four of Luton’s six wins this season have come on home soil
- Fulham have failed to score in their last two Premier League fixtures
- Luton are unbeaten in their last two home league meetings with Fulham
Hatters can land small consolation
Luton’s Premier League adventure is soon to end, but they look a touch of value to finish the season with a win and we predict three points for the Hatters as they bid farewell to the top flight.
The Bedfordshire side could still mathematically draw level on points with 17th-placed Nottingham Forest, but it would take a 12-goal swing for Luton to have any chance of staying up.
The fight went out of Luton some weeks ago, but they have taken five points from their last four home league matches, and manager Rob Edwards will push his side to put on a show for the home faithful.
Fulham have nothing left to play for except the chance to nick 13th spot off Wolves, but they look to have downed tools weeks ago and have failed to score in their last two matches during a run that has seen them win just two of their last ten games.
A sombre atmosphere could encase Kenilworth Road on Sunday, but we predict a comfy home win for doomed Luton, who can turn the tears to cheers.
Home comforts can help Luton
It would folly to be too bullish about Luton’s chances given the situation, but should they get their noses in front, then they are likely to push for more and that could lead to at least one more goal for the home side.
Kenilworth Road has given the Hatters most of their best memories during their Premier League foray and our prediction is for Luton to win their final match in the top flight by a 2-0 score-line.
Fulham have fired blanks in their most recent two outings and should Luton get ahead, it is unlikely that the Cottagers will be too desperate to get back on level terms.
More to come from Morris
Luton forward Carlton Morris has been a handful for Premier League defences this season, and we predict a goal-scoring finale for the 28-year-old.
Morris has scored against Everton, Manchester United, Newcastle and Aston Villa among others this season, and the all-action forward will want to add to his ten-goal tally for the season.
The former Barnsley man opened his account for the campaign on the opening day of the season, and he can close it out by adding to his total on the final day of term.
The fact he takes Luton’s penalties also aids the cause, so Morris to get on the scoresheet is our anytime goal-scorer prediction.
