Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in Luton’s last 10 home league matches, including their 4-1 home loss to Burnley this month. Meanwhile, both teams have scored in all three of QPR’s Championship matches this season

Luton 2-1

Reason for tip

QPR were unable to beat nine-man Plymouth at home last weekend with their ability to convert chances becoming as much as a problem as Luton’s lack of goal output in the first weeks of the campaign. QPR did score twice at Sheffield United in their only away trip of the campaign, so they may strike in a 2-1 defeat here as long as Luton’s strikers are on song.

Elijah Adebayo To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Elijah Adebayo had six shots in Luton’s 1-0 defeat to Preston last weekend and the scorer of 10 Premier League goals last term remains in confident mood.

Luton need to kickstart their campaign

Luton need to kickstart their Championship campaign at home to Queens Park Rangers, the team that knocked them out of the Carabao Cup on penalties this week, on Friday night.

The Hatters, who are selling winger Chiedozie Ogbene to Ipswich, have had a disappointing start to the season with an opening-weekend defeat at home to Burnley followed by a draw at newly-promoted Portsmouth and another loss at Preston last weekend.

But a return to Kenilworth Road, which became a fortress the last time they were in this division, and an improvement in their finishing prowess ought to see them land their first win of the season against a QPR team in transition.

QPR’s cup win was a little unjust

The R’s sold Sinclair Armstrong and lost Chris Willock on a free earlier this summer while it looks like Scotland international striker Lyndon Dykes could be following them through the exit door.

Marti Cifuentes is integrating seven new signings into his side at the moment and the team’s results have been a mixed bag. A 3-1 home loss to West Brom was partially forgotten after Rangers came from two goals down to snatch a point at Sheffield United, but a failure to put away nine-man Plymouth Argyle last week was a setback.

Both teams have scored in all four QPR matches this term, so it seems like the sensible play on Friday. Their penalty shoot-out win over the Hatters was a little unjust on Rob Edwards’ side, who had 21 shots to their 10 and created much better chances in the 90 minutes, but it showed there is not much between the teams at the moment. That said, Luton have the firepower up front to win this return clash with Elijah Adebayo and Carlton Morris both capable of making the difference in the penalty box.
