Manchester City to Win

Reason for tip

Brighton arrive in good form but they have struggled on the road against the top teams, losing three of their previous four trips to the current top five (one draw). City have six wins in their last eight at home across all competitions and can ensure they remain firmly in the top four fight by picking up a crucial three points over a key rivals on Saturday.

Manchester City 3-1

Reason for tip

City have been inconsistent all season but when they do win they usually do it in style. Pep Guardiola’s side have scored at least three goals in each of their last six home wins and can keep that run going against Brighton, who can also get on the scoresheet. Albion have only failed to score in two of their last 13 across all competitions and City have conceded in five of their last six home league games so take a chance on a 3-1 home win.

Joao Pedro To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Brighton have a forward in form as Joao Pedro has scored in each of his last three league games and he can keep his hot-streak going with a strike for the visitors.

Manchester City vs Brighton Predictions

  • Man City have won six of their last eight home games.
  • Brighton are yet to win away against the current top five (D1, L3).
  • Joao Pedro has scored in his last three league games.

In-form Brighton head to Man City

Manchester City’s title defence is clearly over and they face a fight to finish in the top four after last week’s 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest.

Brighton have European aspirations of their own this season and they head to the Etihad Stadium just one point adrift of their hosts, and on a six-game unbeaten run across all competitions (W5, D1).

City can make home advantage count

If City are to qualify for next season’s Champions League they need to ensure they are picking up wins at home and at the current prices they look backable to bounce back from their City Ground defeat by seeing off Brighton.

Pep Guardiola’s men have won six of their last eight home games across all competitions and their two defeats during that run have come against Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Albion have been strong on their travels but they have struggled against the top teams. Brighton have faced the other four members of the current top five away from home and have three defeats and one draw from those four trips, losing 7-0 at Nottingham Forest in their last game against a top five team away.

Brighton won the reverse fixture 2-1 but there wasn’t a great dea to separate the two sides and on another day City may have come away from that game with maximum points, so they can make home advantage count and claim a vital three points on Saturday.

Pedro a goal contender

City have been inconsistent all season but when they do win they usually do it in style. The hosts have scored at least three goals in each of their last six home wins and can keep that run going against Brighton.

The Seagulls should be able to get on the scoresheet as well as they have only failed to score in two of their last 13 across all competitions and City have conceded in five of their last six home league games. As such, a 3-1 win for the hosts looks to have a chance in the correct score market.

Erling Haaland is in the middle of a rough patch for City as he has gone five games without a goal and failed to register an attempt on target at Forest last time out. In contrast, Brighton have a forward in form as Joao Pedro has scored in each of his last three league games and he can keep his hot-streak going with a consolation strike for the visitors.
