      Manchester United vs Juventus Predictions

Manchester United fans continue to be taken on a rollercoaster ride of a campaign, with the latest dramatics coming at Stamford Bridge. Manchester United managed to turn around a one goal deficit against the unbeaten Chelsea, but a last gasp equaliser for the Blues sent sparks flying in the dugouts and saw both teams drop 2 points.

This came a couple of weeks after their excellent turnaround against Newcastle, but the concerns are still very much at the forefront of everybody’s minds. The Red Devils only seem to start performing when they’re behind in a match, and that’s a very dangerous game to play in the grand scheme of things.

This is especially true when facing a side of the calibre of Juventus, who come into this game having comfortably won both of their Champions League group games against Valencia and Young Boys. In fact, I Bianconeri haven’t lost a competitive game all season, and their 1-1 draw against Genoa on Saturday was the first time they’ve dropped points since the end of last term.

Of course, the biggest story here is the homecoming of Cristiano Ronaldo, who returns from suspension to take to the field at his old stomping ground. The Portugese talisman scored 118 goals under Sir Alex Ferguson before moving to boyhood club Real Madrid, but he made the switch to Turin over the summer and now has the opportunity to return to the Old Trafford turf.

Ronaldo has netted 5 goals in 10 appearances for his new club so far, but he’s yet to add to his record 120 Champions League goals in the black and white of Juventus. He’ll undoubtedly be doing everything he can to change that on Tuesday evening.

Jose Mourinho has long been viewed as a defensively minded manager, and while that may be the case, it’s certainly not showing this season. Manchester United have been awful at the back, keeping just 3 clean sheets in their 12 competitive games and conceding 18 goals in total. They have, however, scored in all but one of these 12 matches. Juventus, meanwhile, have scored in all 11 of their competitive games so far and have conceded in 5 of them.

With Manchester United’s back line being so vulnerable we can’t see them keeping the likes of Paulo Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo at bay, but they should have enough about them to find the net themselves. Backing Both Teams to Score looks a good option, but in the end we think Juventus have the quality to take all three points and we’re also backing a 2-1 win for the visitors.
