Manchester City Over 1.5 Team Goals

Reason for tip

Manchester City have scored twice in four of their previous five matches and they’ve scored at least two goals in six of their seven visits to sides in the bottom 10. United have shipped 1.67 goals per game at home and they’re expected to struggle against a City side who appear to be turning things around.

Manchester United vs Manchester City Predictions

  • Man City have scored twice or more in four of their last five
  • United have failed to win at home to any side in the top eight
  • City have scored twice in six of their seven visits to bottom half sides
  • Marmoush has scored in each of City’s last three games

City spark hope for run-in

Manchester City are set to be without Erling Haaland for much of the Premier League run-in, but two wins from two have sparked optimism in a difficult campaign. The Citizens are returning to Wembley later this month for the FA Cup semi-finals, while Wednesday’s 2-0 win over Leicester moved them into fourth place.

City have been able to build up some momentum thanks to a couple of soft fixtures, following last weekend’s win over out-of-sorts Bournemouth. Pep Guardiola’s men will hope that good run can continue against a United side who are stuck in 13th following their 13th defeat of the Premier League campaign.

Another setback for Red Devils

United were beaten 1-0 at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, ending a four-game unbeaten run in the league. Ruben Amorim’s side have now lost four of six meetings with the top three, while they have yet to claim a win at home to any side in the top eight.

Excluding results against a poor bottom-six, United have won two, drawn two and lost seven at Old Trafford in the Premier League this term. While arguably their most impressive victory of the campaign came in the reverse clash at the Etihad, only one of these two rivals look to have progressed since that encounter in December.

City can haunt another struggling side

City have an awful away record against the top 10, with their only win coming in their opening day visit to Chelsea back in August. The Citizens have drawn one and lost six against top-half teams, but they’ve got a much better record against the bottom-half.

City have won five and drawn two of their visits to the bottom 10, scoring at least twice on six occasions. Guardiola’s men have scored two or more goals in four of their last five matches, while they encounter a United side who have shipped 1.67 goals per game at Old Trafford in the league.

Haaland’s absence hurts the visitors, but Omar Marmoush has been deputising well. The January addition has scored in each of City’s last three games, while he’s netted five times across his last six league matches. He can lead this City attack to a couple of goals on Sunday, while United are backed for a 14th defeat of the campaign.
