Manchester United vs Sheffield United Predictions
- Sheffield United have drawn three and lost six of their last nine matches.
- The Blades have scored nine goals in their last six.
- Manchester United have conceded 15 times in their last six games.
Red Devils look to get back on track
Manchester United made it to a second successive FA Cup Final on Sunday but Erik ten Hag’s side did it the hard way, letting slip a three-goal lead and eventually needing penalties to get past second-tier Coventry.
That 3-3 draw made it six games without a win inside 90 minutes and, despite booking another trip to Wembley, there is not much in the way of excitement surrounding the torrid Red Devils.
Despite that, they should be able to get back to winning ways and keep themselves in the hunt for European qualification when they face a Sheffield United side on a fast track to the Championship.
Championship-bound Blades can still threaten
The Blades were hammered 4-1 at home to relegation rivals Burnley on Saturday and have now drawn three and lost six of their last nine matches, leaving them rock-bottom of the Premier League and some ten points adrift of safety.
Chris Wilder’s side have scored nine goals in their last six matches, though, so they should at least trouble a Manchester United defence that has been abysmal at times this season.
In-form Fernandes to play leading role
Injuries have played a significant role, and the hosts are expected to be without as many as six first-team defenders again on Wednesday, but that does not negate the fact they have conceded 15 goals in their last six matches.
Manchester United should have more than enough quality to take three points off the Blades, but do not expect an easy ride and backing them to win and both teams to score appeals.
Sheffield United have conceded three or more goals in three of their last five games and the hosts have scored exactly three in two of their last four, so a 3-1 correct score prediction stands out.
Bruno Fernandes also looks a good price in the anytime goalscorer market after notching again at the weekend, taking his tally to 13 for the season. He has scored in each of his last four appearances and chipped in with an assist at Wembley, too.
