Manchester United (Women) vs Manchester City (Women) Predictions

Man United Women to win at 19/10

Man United Women to win 2-1 at 10/1

  • Manchester City have managed only one win from four games in this season’s Women’s Super League
  • Manchester United have won three of their last four league games
  • Manchester City’s four league games have featured 14 goals this term

Man United can continue strong start

Manchester City Women may have booked their place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup at the end of the month but they have made a miserable start to the new Women’s Super League season.

After a summer which saw them lose key midfielders Rose Lavelle and Sam Mewis to OL Reign and North Carolina Courage, City have started the 2021-22 Super League campaign with three defeats from their opening four fixtures.

They opened with a convincing 4-0 defeat of Everton but have since lost to Tottenham, Arsenal and West Ham by an aggregate scoreline of 9-1.

That suggests they are struggling to match the division’s bigger outfits and that does not bode well for this week’s derby with Manchester United.

Marc Skinner’s Red Devils have the reverse record of City after four games, having won three times, and they showed the 6-1 mauling by Chelsea did not impact them too much as they defeated Birmingham comfortably last time out.

United saw 72 per cent of the ball on that occasion and they are worth chancing to win this game.

Our correct score prediction, meanwhile, is a 2-1 win for the home side.
