Marseille 2-1

Reason for tip

Lille have won only one of their last 13 trips to Marseille, who can edge this clash 2-1. De Zerbi’s side have scored multiple goals in three of their six home games this term and exactly two in three of their last five overall. Marseille have kept only one home clean sheet all season while Lille have scored in five straight away games in all competitions.

Mason Greenwood To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has only managed one goal in France’s top flight but he has managed five goals in all competitions this season and was excellent against Le Harve in Marseille’s last home league game, scoring a goal and recording an assist, so he looks a good candidate for an anytime goal on Saturday.

Expect goals at the Velodrome

There will be an expectation of goals at Orange Velodrome when Marseille and Lille, two of the most entertaining clubs in Ligue1, face off in a top-four clash. Les Phoceens won their third game in a row last weekend when they beat Saint-Etienne 2-0 at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

Roberto de Zerbi was delighted with the performance, which also saw Marseille collect their first clean sheet in almost two months. His team are five points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain and can mount a challenge for the title if they come through this game unscathed as they will not face another top-half club until the end of January.

Lille beat Sturm Graz 3-2 in midweek to climb into the top eight of that competition and Bruno Genesio’s side are capable of winning this game too. Les Dogues are unbeaten in their last five Ligue 1 away game with two wins and three draws.

Red-hot Greenwood can make the difference

However, they have won only one of their last 13 visits to the Velodrome and may struggle to impose themselves on a side with some influential and in-form players like Adrien Rabiot, Valentin Rongier and Mason Greenwood.

Greenwood scored his tenth Ligue 1 goal of the campaign last weekend and has now bagged five times in his last seven appearances. He could make the difference in a game that looks set to feature at least three strikes.

At least three goals have been scored in six of Marseille’s last seven Ligue 1 matches and also three of Lille’s last four league games while three of the last four head-to-head meetings have featured three goals or more.
