Marseille can claim crucial victory

Marseille went into the weekend eight places above Toulouse in the Ligue 1 standings and that is reflected in the betting odds for their clash at Stade Velodrome on Sunday. Back Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille side to get the victory.

They are third in Ligue 1, eight places and 15 points above Toulouse. The hosts have won 15 of their 27 games this season, while the visitors sit 11th with nine wins so far.

Toulouse lost 4-2 to Brest last weekend, in what was their second consecutive Ligue 1 defeat. This was a disappointing result for Toulouse, who had been priced at even-money to win the game. Brest had their chances but didn’t make the most of them.

Marseille have enjoyed success in four of their last six home games in Ligue 1 and will be confident of getting the win.

Toulouse’s recent form in Ligue 1 has been up and down, with two wins, one draw and three defeats in their last six games. That run included a wide-margin 4-0 win over Angers, but also losses to Brest, Strasbourg and Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

A 2-0 win for Marseille looks the best correct-score bet. Six of their 15 Ligue 1 victories this season have been by two goals, and four of Toulouse’s 11 defeats have also come by a two-goal margin.
