      Both Teams To Score

      Reason for tip

Eight of Middlesbrough’s last ten games have seen both teams score, including a 1-1 stalemate with Burnley earlier this month. Three of the Claret’s last five fixtures have seen both teams score.

      Draw 2-2

      Reason for tip

Middlesbrough have drawn their last two games 3-3, while netting at least twice in four of their last six away games. Burnley have netted exactly twice in three successive games.

      Middlesbrough vs Burnley Predictions

      • Both teams have scored in eight of Middlesbrough’s last ten outings
      • Three of Burnley’s last five fixtures have seen both teams score
      • Boro have scored in all bar one of their last nine outings

      Can Middlesbrough cause an upset?

Middlesbrough were cruising to victory on Boxing Day, until they had a man sent off and eventually drew 3-3 with Sheffield Wednesday.

That result was the eighth time in ten games that the Riverside Stadium side have seen both teams score in one of their games.

Indeed, they have only kept one clean sheet in the last 12 attempts, and that does not bode well for facing an in-form Burnley, even if Michael Carrick’s side have netted in nine of their last ten games.

      Burnley flying high

The Clarets, on the other hand, arrive on Teesside unbeaten in ten outings, winning seven times and failing to score in just one of the last nine – a 0-0 draw at home to Derby.

When it comes to more recent matches, three of the last five have seen both teams score, including a 1-1 stalemate with Middlesbrough earlier this month.

And although they have only conceded nine times this season, Scott Parker’s side have conceded four of those to teams currently in the top seven.

I predict that both teams will score in this game, with a 2-2 draw my correct score prediction.
