      Under 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Low-scoring games have been a feature for both Millwall and Middlesbrough, with eight of Millwall’s last ten league fixtures going under 2.5 goals and ten of the last 12 head-to-heads following suit. This clash is likely to be another tight affair.

      Middlesbrough 1-0

      Reason for tip

Middlesbrough won 1-0 in the reverse fixture, and Millwall have lost 11 times this season by a single goal. With both sides defensively solid and play-off pressure mounting, another narrow away win could be on the cards.

      Millwall vs Middlesbrough Predictions

Goal drought expected at The Den

Back under 2.5 goals when Millwall host Middlesbrough at The Den on Saturday. There have been under 2.5 goals in eight of Millwall’s last ten Championship games and ten of the last 12 matches between this pair.

Middlesbrough are three places above Millwall in the table, but the two sides are separated by just three points in the race for the play-off spots. Millwall, in ninth, have won 15 and lost 14 of their 41 games this season, while Middlesbrough, sixth, have won 17 and lost 15.

Millwall have won four of their last six Championship games and have claimed victory in their last two home matches.

Middlesbrough’s recent form has been inconsistent, with three victories, one draw and two defeats in their last six, but they beat Blackburn 2-0 in their last away game and have more potential match-winners in their ranks than the Lions.

Millwall will be buzzing after their 1-0 win away against high-flying Sheffield United on Tuesday, which was their eighth Championship game in ten with under 2.5 goals. A first-half goal was enough to get the job done, and at 9/2, it was the biggest price they have won at this season.

The hosts’ games have not featured too many goals this season, with 14 of Millwall’s 20 Championship home games ending with under 2.5 goals. Four of the last five times that Middlesbrough have visited in the league have also produced under three goals.

Middlesbrough were 1-0 winners against Millwall last time they met in the Championship and a repeat scoreline looks on the cards.

Eleven of Millwall’s 14 defeats this season have been by a single goal and at least one of the sides has blanked in eight of the last ten meetings between these two.
