Home comforts to serve Monaco well

Monaco are in form at home and can be backed to beat Marseille on Saturday. They have won seven of their last eight Ligue 1 games at Stade Louis II, while the visitors have lost four of their last five away matches.

Marseille are one place above Monaco in the table with just two points separating the teams. The hosts, who have won five of their nine games against teams in the top four this season, sit third with 15 wins from 28 games, while Marseille are second with 16 victories.

Monaco are hitting their stride at home, having been the winners in five Ligue 1 home games in a row. They have won seven of their last eight on home soil.

Their attack is in fine form, having scored two goals or more in 16 of their 28 Ligue 1 games this season.

They have also found the net in 13 consecutive matches, including a 7-1 thrashing of Nantes in February.

Backing Marseille’s opponents during their current run of four defeats in six Ligue 1 games would have resulted in a profit of 10.40 units.

Marseille’s recent away form has been poor, with the last three Ligue 1 road trips ending in defeat. They have lost four of their last five matches on the road.

The visitors’ defence is a concern. Marseille have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last three Ligue 1 away games.

Monaco have won six times in Ligue 1 by a two-goal margin this season and a 2-0 home win looks the best correct-score bet. Marseille have lost two of their last three league games by two goals.
