Montreal Impact vs Philadelphia Union Betting Tips & Predictions

Montreal Impact played their part in one of the games of the season on Sunday as they came from three goals behind to draw 4-4 at Columbus Crew. They were 4-1 down with just 33 minutes remaining, but a Didier Drogba penalty set them on their way and they went on to make it 4-3 a minute later before scoring a dramatic 93rd minute equaliser.

This may have made it four games without a win for Montreal Impact, but the confidence they will have gained from that comeback will surely spur them on to break out of the poor run soon.

To be fair to them, only one of these four games has ended in defeat, with each of their last three games ending all square. This takes their season total to four wins, three draws, and three defeats, which is somehow enough to leave them at the top of the MLS Eastern Conference. They hold a one point advantage over Toronto FC and Philadelphia Union, but both have a game in hand on the leaders.

Philadelphia Union managed a 2-2 draw at home to LA Galaxy on Wednesday night, going ahead early on but then going 2-1 down just after half-time before equalising with half an hour to spare.

This takes their record this season to four wins, three defeats, and two draws, but all three of their defeats have come away from home. Montreal Impact beat New York Red Bulls and Columbus Crew in their opening two home matches of the season, but have recently lost to Toronto FC and drawn with Colorado Rapids.

Montreal Impact showed some devastating attacking force against Columbus Crew, and it’s not surprising given they have Didier Drogba up front. They have scored at least two goals in three of their four home matches and in four of their last six overall. Philadelphia Union were poor at the back against LA Galaxy in midweek too, and they could be tired with such a short break between games.
