Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in eight successive Nice games in the league, a sure-fire sign that they know where the back of the net is. Such a run also highlights their defensive frailties, a problem Marseille are also having to overcome – both teams have scored in eight of their last nine league outings.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Nice have conceded exactly once in five of their last 12 league games, and netted exactly once in five of those games, including two 1-1 draws. Marseille have conceded exactly once in four successive top flight outings, including a pair of 1-1 draws

Nice vs Marseille Predictions

  • 13 of Nice’s last 14 matches have seen both teams score
  • Both teams have netted in eight of Marseille’s last nine league fixtures
  • Nice have scored in each of their last 16 home outings

Can Nice bounce back?

Nice were on the end of a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Elfsborg in the UEFA Europa League in midweek, a second successive reversal having been beaten 2-1 by Lille in Ligue 1 last weekend.

The latter of those results means both teams have scored in their last eight matches in the top flight, as well as 13 of 14 games across all competitions.

Franck Haise’s side have in fact kept just one clean sheet in the last dozen attempts in the league, although four of those clashes have ended as draws.

Will Marseille continue fine form on the road?

Looking to take advantage will be visitors Marseille, who actually have the best away record in the division, winning eight times and losing just once from nine matches.

Six of those clashes have seen both teams score, while both teams have netted in eight of their last nine matches in the league, regardless of venue.

That is hardly surprising for a team managed by Roberto De Zerbi, but it is now just one clean sheet in ten in the top flight for the Marseille boss.

I predict that both teams will score in this game, with a 1-1 draw my correct score prediction.
