Hosts may be too strong

Rangers’ domestic campaign has been one to forget this term, they are already 11 points behind rivals Celtic in third place in the race for the Scottish title after their 1-1 draw with Dundee United at the weekend.

The Europa League has been something of a respite for the Light Blues but they face a tough test on Thursday as they visit Ligue 1 side Nice.

The hosts are fifth in the French top flight but have yet to win a Europa League clash this season, losing on the road to Lazio and Ferencvaros and drawing at home with Real Sociedad and Twente.

They could secure their first win of the campaign against the Gers here however, with the visitors looking woefully short on confidence in their recent outings.

Both teams to find net

Pressure is rising on Philippe Clement and Nice are ahead in the Ligue 1 standings of a Lyon side that beat Rangers 4-1 at Ibrox earlier this season. 

Franck Haise’s hosts are due to translate their domestic form into Europe at some point and it may come in this game against a Rangers team that have only scored six goals in their last five games in all competitions.

They can get on the scoresheet in defeat however, side with a 3-1 win for the home team.
