Wales began their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign with a 3-1 win over Kazakhstan on Saturday but their next assignment away to North Macedonia on Tuesday could be much tougher.

The weekend win means Craig Bellamy is unbeaten in his first seven matches in charge of the Dragons and they are a tough nut to crack at the moment.

But punters should not rush to back them away to North Macedonia, who will be in high spirits.

North Macedonia will not be pushovers

Having been stationed in Group C4 in the Nations League, North Macedonia’s recent run should be taken with a pinch of salt given their opponents have been the likes of Faroe Islands, Latvia and Armenia.

But they were nonetheless solid in those games and conceded just once in their entire Nations League campaign.

Wales will represent a step-up in quality and are in great form but North Macedonia do not typically shy away from a challenge, having nicked a point off England in a Euro qualifier back in November 2023.
