      Under 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Northern Ireland have failed to score in three of their last four home matches and it would be no surprise if already-qualified Denmark win this without getting out of second gear, so there may not be many goals

      Denmark 2-0

      Reason for tip

Denmark have scored 19 goals in their nine Group H matches, so they have not been full of goals despite topping the table. They have scored more than twice in just two of those games, so a 2-0 away win looks a good shot for those looking for a correct-score selection.

      Northern Ireland vs Denmark Predictions

      • Northern Ireland have lost eight of their last ten competitive matches
      • Demark have won seven of their last nine games
      • Denmark have scored more than twice in just two of their nine Group H qualifiers

Northern Ireland’s struggles likely to continue

San Marino, the weakest international team in Europe, are the only team Northern Ireland have beaten in the EURO 2024 qualifiers and their campaign is unlike to end on a high when they entertain Group H winners Denmark.

The home side will be anxious to avoid an embarrassment after they were despatched 4-0 by Finland on Friday and there are concerns that they have struggled to score goals at Windsor Park, failing to net in three of their last four games on their own patch.

That does not bode well for a clash with the Danes, who have overcome a shaky start to come out on top of the section after their win over Slovenia gave them a superior head-to-head record over their closest rivals.

There is a chance they could stake their foot off the gas, though, so it could be a match that does not contain many goals, so under 2.5 goals is an attractive bet.

Danes are not full of goals

Denmark have scored 19 goals in their nine qualifiers, and six of those came in two games against San Marino, so they are not a team who create a host of chances.

Their 4-0 win over the minnows was just one of two occasions in the group stage when they have scored more than two goals and it has to be remembered that the hard work has already been done and they can already look forward to next summer’s finals in Germany.

That points to the Danes, who have won their last five matches, posting what would be a routine 2-0 success.
