Norwich vs Newcastle Predictions
Norwich’s 1-0 win over West Brom before the international break was an absolutely crucial result, and also saw them go back to back games unbeaten for the first time in 2016 following on from their impressive goalless draw against Manchester City.
The three points against West Brom allowed them to put a two point cushion between themselves and the relegation zone, and it also saw them keep their first away clean sheet of the season.
This will be a huge boost in confidence for the struggling Canaries, and another win on Saturday would allow them to put six points between themselves and Newcastle and could allow them to move five points clear of the relegation zone. This would boost confidence even more ahead of their trip to Crystal Palace next weekend, where they could leapfrog them and put Alan Pardew in relegation trouble.
Newcastle clinched a late equaliser against arch rivals and fellow relegation zone occupiers Sunderland in their last match, with Aleksandar Mitrovic sending St James’ Park into a frenzy as they stopped their age old rivals taking all three points.
However, this moment of elation is over now, and Newcastle remain in the relegation zone. A win by three goals on Saturday could see them move out of the bottom three, but they could potentially end up six points adrift of safety.
The visitors are winless in four matches, and their last eight competitive away games have resulted in a defeat for the Toon. With Norwich on the up and Newcastle still down in the dumps I think a win for the hosts is a good backing, and odds of 6/5 for a Norwich win make it an even more attractive proposition. I’m going for a 1-0 correct score prediction at 6/1 as well.
